The tour will offer the visitors the chance to experience its unique history. We will visit the Archaeological Museum of Thessaloniki, which after a period of renovation work is opening its doors to the public. The Archaeological Museum is the biggest museum of Macedonia and through its exhibitions presents various aspects of culture which developed in Macedonia, primarily in the Thessaloniki area and neighboring prefectures over a long chronological period: from the dawn of prehistory until late antiquity, till the first Christian Centuries. The museum presentations are entirely human-centered, re-creating the life and times of the people who lived in this part of Greece. How did they dress? What did they eat? How did they travel? What gods did they worship? How did they memorialize their dead? How they were socially and politically organized? With whom were they in contact exchanging objects and ideas?
